The American Friends of Lafayette have commissioned The Holy Theatre to produce  "The Rivals," by Richard Brinsley Sheridan, at their conference in New York City this summer, which commemorates the 200th anniversary of the Marquis de Lafayette's farewell tour of the United States.

 

Sarah Rose Kearns directs a team of six intrepid actors in this fully staged and costumed, 60-minute adaptation of the classic screwball comedy — a favorite of the Nation's Guest, who witnessed a performance of "The Rivals" during his visit to New York in 1824. Our performance will take place at The French Institute Alliance Francaise in Manhattan on August 17, 2024.
