The Austens: a new play by Sarah Rose Kearns

"The Austens" is a full-length, eight-character play about the family that lived at Chawton Cottage in the summer of 1810. It is the current work-in-progress of artistic director Sarah Rose Kearns, who conducted research on the spot in Chawton, UK in 2022, through a fellowship from The Jane Austen Society of North America. It was written, in part, during a residency at Waterman's Community Center on North Haven Island, Maine.
